The Belly Dancing Artist in Harem Georgette Pants

Dancing is letting be, and getting in touch with yourself. It is feeling the “you” within, and releasing, expressing it. When you dance, your body moves as you feel your spirit. And by all means, you can exude your sensuality as well, such as when you are belly dancing.

Be it belly dancing, or dancing in general, the art is also a form of entertainment.  Since the beginning of civilization, dancing as an art and as a primal instinct had been inherent to humans. As time went on, dancing- just as a mere movement or an art- has evolved. And so came dances from different nations and different cultures, with moves and sways bearing their own distinctiveness and nationalism.

Along with each culture’s distinctive dance movements are their unique costumes. Other than the dancer’s skills, his or her costume makes them more attractive, alluring, enticing or interesting.  Other than aesthetic aspects, the dancer’s clothing also plays a role in comfort and adaptability when dancing.

The art of belly dancing started in the middle east, and it remains to be popular. Belly dancing is indeed beautiful, sensual, exotic, and along with its charm is the alluring belly dance costume. Harem pants are integral in a belly dance costume. Harem pants can be georgette pants worn under the skirt, or it can be harem pants made of other materials, such as lightweight silk, sheer knits, lace, and velvet. Other than being worn under a skirt, harem pants are also worn as an individual garment. You can see a lot of belly dancers wearing georgette harem pants with slits to the sides reaching the knee or thigh area. Harem pants are also designed with trimmings along the slits. There are harem pants as well which are georgette pants with two halves of the slits connected with metallic ribbons or beaded strands.

Other than belly dancing, another popular and classically beautiful dance art is ballet. A ballet dancer in his or her utmost gracefulness does flexible twist and turns, leaps and throws. In ballet dancing, dancers use specific costumes, such as flamenco or ballroom costumes. Sometimes they also wear special jazz pants

Then there is disco dancing, one of the most popular dancers of whom was Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson was in fact the king of disco. Different types of clothing complement the disco dancing vogue. In the case of Michael Jackson, his (unique) costumes particularly made him stand out along with his adept moves. And was he a total disco king sensation with his famous moonwalk!

In like cases, dancing pants are important. They have to allow flexibility and ease of movement to the dancer. M. Jackson was said to wear tight pants, but they were flexible. In the same way, his jackets were relaxed fit. The King of Pop that he was, Michael revolutionized disco dancing. His dance techniques were absolutely uniquely radical and striking.

Dancing as an art requires passion, skills and artistry. Within the whole persona of the dancer as an artist comes the clothing which gives the graceful dancing artist a better presentation.

Dressing up with georgette pants

The way we dress with different kinds of clothing such as georgette pants, may depend on what mood we have for the day. You can have those bright days wherein you’d like to wear clothes with bright colors which reflect most of your mood, then again you also have your blue days wherein you just want to cover up so that you could literally disappear from the sidewalk and not be noticed by people. But you should not miss one important factor in the way you dress everyday, you should also dress to suit the way your body structure works. You see there are different types of body structures for different women. There are women who are thin, fat, tall, and short and some may have combinations of both. One type of fashion statement of a woman could not work well with another woman having an entirely different body structure. So it helps to be aware of the kind of fashion which would suit you and your body structure.

If you are tall and would like to buy pants such as georgette pants, you should choose those with pale, base colored, earthy tones which you could easily pair with bright colored tops. Short blazers full of buttons also help create an illusion of a shorter upper body. If you are a bit fat, free flowing soft fabrics like chiffon, georgette, polyester or cotton silk, in single tone can give you a slimmer look. Also, clothes having vertical lines help create an illusion of being slim and as well as height. Now, if you are of a small type, you should choose clothing with deep neckline and long neckline as accessory, high collar tops and shorter accessories are the ones you should avoid. Prints on clothes should be scattered on well tones body parts so that attention is diverted to positive areas. What’s important is that you feel comfortable with the way you dress as to bring out more of your personality out of you.

Bring out your real beauty with palazzo pants

One factor why women dress up thoroughly and buy pieces of clothing such as palazzo pants is because they want to look pretty. What you wear affects one of the most important aspects of your personality such as your social life. Some say they dress to impress, while some say they dress to make a statement of themselves to society, others on the other hand dress up to show a bit of their personality to the world. Whatever reason there may be, you would usually dress the way you like or where you would feel most comfortable with. The way you dress also highly depends on what kind of body structure you may have since a lot of different women also have different body structures. There are women who are thin, there are fat women, tall women and short women, some have combinations of both so it is not safe to say that one fashion statement of one woman may fit well with that of another woman.

Fashion clothing such as palazzo pants, have altered themselves so as to fit almost any kind of body structure a woman may have. You may see that palazzo pants as well as other types of clothing are available in different styles, designs, colors and sizes. This happens so that even short women would look tall when wearing the pants, or so that even fat women could look slimmer while wearing the pants. Designs sometimes contribute highly to how a woman looks, so it pays to really pay attention to the style of design which you would like to have on your clothing. You would not want to look like a fashion disaster by wearing something really off and wrong for your body, but if you choose the right combination of clothes, even though simple, you could actually pull it off and look astounding!

Who Wears the Pants in This Place?

Stacy Montgomery asked:

There was a time -- not that long ago -- that women simply did not wear pants. Indicative of our more "subservient" roles in life, we were relegated to dresses and skirts, even when doing physical labor, such as harvesting crops on a farm. In fact, before World War II, the closest we came to pants were long ruffly underwear that hung far below overskirts called "bloomers" (some of us may still remember our grandmothers referring to our little-girl undergarments by that name LOL!).

Although we may remember that scene in "Fried Green Tomatoes" where Idgy Threadgood and her BFF Ruth fully embrace their renegade status and walk arm-in-arm down the street in men's trousers, the truth is that slacks did not become mainstream for women until almost a century later. Like Idgy and Ruth, however, plenty of women DID raid their brothers' closets to put on the symbolic power of men's trousers and lay rebel claim to their own equality and self worth, but it was definitely not an acceptable fashion statement.

In the 1920's, a revolution began that would take us through the factories of WWII and up to present day. What began with farmers, female miners -- and Calamity Jane-style cowgirls, went on to become much more than a functional wardrobe piece or the uniform of necessity. From Brooke Shields' controversial statement on her jeans that rocked the 1980's ("Nothing gets between me and my Calvin's") to Hillary Clinton's parade of amazing pantsuits in every shade of the rainbow while campaigning for the Presidency -- pants have become an everyday fashion staple in the modern woman's wardrobe.

The full-figured woman is no exception to this. Plus size pants are especially attractive for the plus-size wardrobe, running the spectrum of office attire: from silk and linen palazzo pants to two-piece, suited gouchos for nine to five. For more sporty looks there are plus size denims, cotton blends and even plus size Bermuda shorts for comfortable, but still great looking, evenings and weekends.

For the plus size woman, pants are a great part of her wardrobe and the right style can really accent her figure -- from slenderizing boot-cut plus size jeans to stretchy leggings for that perfect accent for tunic tops (or even under mini-skirts). The bottom line is this: For function or fashion, the statement made by a great pair of pants is simply plus-size fabulous and definitely worth a shopping trip or a few minutes online to explore and add to a great wardrobe.

Shhh! Big Girl Fashion Secrets For 2009!

Syreeta Rios asked:

Attention plus size divas, big gyrls (BGs), and thickie slims, here is your 2009 fashion guide to a fashion fabulous new year!

Winter 2008/2009 Season- The winter season is filled with colors that resemble royalty and warmth. BGs you can have so much fun mixing these colors. Colors that should be in your closet are deep purple or plum, royal blue, electric blue, dark grey, fuchsia, cream or ivory, and burnt orange. Great combinations are created by adding turquoise with chocolate brown, plum, or burnt orange. The electric blue and electric royal blues are colors that demand attention and can be worn with a soft pink or fuchsia contrast. Clothing items that are in effect for the winter season are military jackets and shirts, plaid jackets, pants, and skirts, feathers and plumes, and of course kimonos.

Spring/Summer 2009 Season- The spring and summer seasons are my favorite because you can wear less, and still look like a video vixen without sacrificing integrity. The spring and summer seasons bring out sensual colors with a natural tone. The colors that should be in your closet are nature tones of camel, beige, tan, and other light shades of brown. Bright colors ran rapid last year and for this year, the light colors are coming out such as yellow, peach, celery, and ultimate light grey. Some bright colors to keep are vibrant green and of course fuchsia. We love fuchsia and all shades of fuchsia like red-fuchsia. Clothing items that are in effect for the spring/summer season are fringe/flapper dresses and shirts, shirt jackets, boleros, flounced tops and bottoms, one-shoulder pieces, and butterfly motif prints.

Big Gyrl Secret#1: Keep it simple and elegant, do not overdue your prints and patterns. As plus women, prints stand out on us so for example, if you are wearing a butterfly motif dress, do not look tacky with butterflies being printed all over it. Instead stand out in elegance and find a dress that has two or three colorful butterfly prints. Sheer is also coming back in full force this spring/summer season and as plus women; some of us will look a hot mess wearing a sheer shirt with a bra underneath. Instead, find a sheer/solid shirt. You will still have the same sexy appeal showing tidbits instead of the whole package, leave your audience in suspense and wanting more.

Big Gyrl Secret#2: BGs that are short (4'9"- 5'2") with a triangle shape look great in a military style and puffed sleeve jackets. We also recommend wearing straight leg jeans or wide legged trousers, pencil, and a-line skirts in a dark color with the jackets. Top it off with a feather/plume hat or brooch to set it off. Hourglass shaped BGs should wear flared skirts or a-line dresses, scoop-neck sweaters, and three-quarter length sleeves.

Big Gyrl Secret#3: BGs that are average (5'3"- 5'7") with a triangle shape should wear straight-leg, wide-leg, or palazzo pants. Skirts include full, pleated, and gored. Wide belts are also a great accessory to keep this season, as they look fabulous with a long v-neck sweater. Stay away from the short sleeve jacket and cap sleeve jacket. Hourglass BGs look great in mid-rise jeans that are boot-cut or straight leg, no skinny jeans! You also look incredible with princess seam jackets and the basic trench coat. Combine those with a plaid pattern and you are going to make heads turn a full 360 like to exorcist, in a good way.

Big Gyrl Secret#4: BGs that are tall (5'8" and higher) with a triangle shape look fabulous in tailored button-up dress shirts, sweetheart neck and v-necks tops. You should wear circle type skirts in flowing fabrics. Include plenty of feminine details like ruffles which are still in. Three- quarter sleeves are a must have with dark, straight- leg pants. You will also look great in a military style jacket. Hourglass BGs should have a wrap dress or any type of A-line dress to show off that beautiful shape. Straight-leg or boot cut pants and jeans are also a must have. You will also look awesome in a peplum jacket or corseted blazer.

Remember big gyrls, you are Beyond Intelligent and Gorgeous. You are beautiful inside and out. Don't be afraid to take fashion risks!

Have a fashion fabulous year!

Discover Trends in Liturgical Dancewear

Alexandra Barbier asked:

Over the years, liturgical dance has become a very popular form of dance. It is done as a form of praise and worship at church services and involves many fluid movements as an expression of dance.

There are many options when it comes to choosing liturgical dancewear. The main thing to remember is to make sure whatever you choose flows with your movements, is easy to move in, and is comfortable.

The basis of liturgical wear is usually a basic, long-sleeve leotard. Some opt to wear wide collar bibs or capes as well. Leotards can be paired with either skirts or pants.

Liturgical skirts are long - either ankle length or barely touching the ground. There are circle skirts, which are slightly gathered at the waistline to create a pleated effect, double circle skirts, which are like circle skirts but a bit wider, and handkerchief skirts, which have an uneven hemline.

Wide legged or Palazzo pants are also common in liturgical wear. Palazzo pants can give the illusion of a skirt while standing still, but are visibly pants while in motion.

Most liturgical wear is made from nylon, polyester, or chiffon. The most common colors used in liturgical wear are majestic: deep purple, royal blue, red, gold, etc. Head wraps and scarves are also nice accessories to add to a liturgical outfit. Some even add a sequin belt over the skirt for a little something extra.

As far as shoes go, most liturgical dancers dance barefoot or wear a lyrical shoe that gives the illusion of being barefoot.

A Great Pair of Pants Says it All!

A Great Pair of Pants Says it All!

There was a time - in the not so distant past - that a woman simply did not wear pants. Indicative of our more "subservient" roles in life, we were relegated to dresses and skirts, even when riding horseback and doing physical labor, such as harvesting crops on a farm. In fact, before World War II, the closest we came to pants were long ruffly underwear that hung far below overskirts called "bloomers" (some of us may still remember our grandmothers referring to our little-girl undergarments by that name LOL!).

Thank goodness times have changed not just for style purposes but for comfort as well!

Try walking down the street and counting the number of women wearing pants-especially during this chilly winter season. From those rushing to work, on the way to the gym, or picking up the kids from day care, pants are a necessity to every woman's wardrobe. In retrospect, fashion has come a long way indeed.

The full-figured woman is no exception to this. Plus size pants are especially attractive for the plus-size wardrobe, running the spectrum of office attire: from silk and linen palazzo pants to two-piece, suited gauchos for nine to five. For more sporty looks there are plus size denims, cotton blends and even plus size Bermuda shorts for comfortable, but still great looking, evenings, weekends, and vacations. The pant options for the plus size woman are limitless.

The Blouse Is Back! This Season’s Newest Looks

Elli Rose asked:

Structured or not, blouses are feminine and can make you look soft, powerful, or both. For the office, pair them with a jacket and pencil skirt or palazzo pants. For a casual day shopping or in class, opt for sleeveless and flowy with a pair of gouchos or leggings. Whatever the occasion, a blouse is a great choice as it provides form, function and fashion, all in one beautiful package.

Many blouses are pulling their style from bohemian inspired prints and the bold and beautiful colors of the eastern shores. Eastern nations live for the heat, and the materials in which they produce their wares make exceptional choices for steamy summer days. Their clothing is both beautiful and comfortable. Loose and made of cotton and linen, the embroidery pops off of these and indulges your inner sex goddess as it accentuate the plunging necklines.

A newer version of the blouse this season is the gathered collar blouse. At first glance, this appears to be a top that you can throw on and run out the door. One glance in the dressing room mirror tells you otherwise though; if you're going to wear this style, you must buy one with the right fit. This style carries pleats at the neckline, which, left buttoned up creates an unflattering paunchienss. Opt for a blouse that you can unbutton and let flow in to a plunging, deep V neckline, which in turn will push the pleats to the sides making them much more comfortable. Choose three quarter or elbow length sleeves on these because if you go with a full length sleeve, the gathers at the wrist will give the illusion of draping your body in fabric instead of the peasant vibe you're trying to achieve. Lastly, these blouses are best paired with a skinny, pencil skirt or skinny pants and should always be long enough to cover your waistband.

Simply stunning are accordion-pleated tops. Delicate and intricate, the pleats add both a softness and a subtle volume to your look. These should always hang a few inches below your waistband because, with the amount of fabric in these tops, they tend to be billowy and will float up; choosing one too short leaves you exposing skin that you don't want showing, unless you're 18. Speaking of skin, you do want to show some off with these tops, but make sure it's in the shoulder and neckline area. Accordion-pleated tops are best done sleeveless. Again, with so much fabric, if your body is totally covered, you're going to look incredibly awkward. Paired with the simplest of jewelry, this will be a top you will wear again and again.

Overall, I'm incredibly excited about the new trend in blouses. Even for those of us who think we don't pull off the feminine and girly look well, these pieces are sure to sway your opinion. No one says you have to choose them in pastels; go for bold and bright and make the statement you're known for! Above all else, have fun with these new styles and remember, as long as you carry yourself with confidence, you will not only look sexy, you'll feel it too!

Buying the Right Pants for Plus Size Women

Christina Capo asked:

Whenever any woman purchases a pant, it is their husbands who go into panic mode. This is because they all know they would get the dreaded question - do these pants make me look fat? To be honest, there is no right way to answer this question. But the good thing is there is a right way to purchase pants which would not just help relieving husbands of questions they don't want to hear but at the same time get them all excited by just one look at you.

The fact is, it does not matter if you fall under the plus size category. If you buy the right pants for you, it will look absolutely stunning on you. This is why you must ensure you purchase plus size women's pants meant exclusively for your body shape.

The biggest mistake most women make is to visit a retail store that does not specialize in their size. They end up getting something that is a compromise for them and hence it obviously does not fit them as well as they would like. Being a plus size woman, I exclusively shop at retail stores meant for me. In fact nowadays I prefer going online to check the latest collection in pants. A lot of women like me earlier, are not aware of the type of amazing pants available for them until they check online on a plus size retail store.

One of my absolute favorites is the Palazzo pants. It is one of those types of pants which just suit you so well even if your hips are on the heavier side. They tuck your tummy in so perfectly hence they make excellent evening wear and they are perfect for formal occasions as well. Palazzo pants come in variations as well such as contour wasted pants, simple black or colored Palazzo's, Whitney Palazzo Pants etc.

The other must have which I would really recommend is having a great pair of jeans with you. It is so unfortunate that many plus size women feel jeans are not meant for them. On the contrary, if you buy jeans that are designed and cut for plus size women, then it will be one of the best pair of clothes you can have in any category. Jeans will actually make you look stunning and make your husband go all gaga over you. I personally prefer the boot cut jeans or the dark wash skinny jeans. They just make you look so appealing and if you haven't tried them out, you will be quite surprised by how they make you appear

Rounding off my top three favorite plus size women's pants would be the crop pants. From Belle Crop Pants to Marlene Crop Pants, I love them all. Nothing compliments your curves like these pants. Clothes are meant to bring out your best features. If you really buy something that was meant for your size, whether they are tops, skirts, pants or dresses, you can be sure that you will look beautiful in those and will be confident enough to wear them without having to ask anyone for their opinion.

Cardigan Sweaters in Fun Prints

When the weather gets cooler, women everywhere begin switching out their summer wardrobes in favor of fall and winter fashions. Many of them are realizing that their choices for chillier temperatures are either worn, ill-fitting, or hopelessly out of style. For them, it is a perfect time to reinvest in the one clothing item that can support several different outfits: the cardigan sweater. When closed, it can stand alone as a casual or dressy top. And women who leave it open can accessorize the look with various tops, tanks, and shells underneath. Cardigans are great with slacks, jeans, or even lounge pants. Most importantly, their comfort and functionality make them popular choices when the mercury drops.

Here are several cardigan choices that are available with fun prints:
